Gas Boosters
Gas boosters lift the pressure of your gas supply when the mains pressure is too low for the burner, boiler, or CHP engine to run as designed. We supply Secomak and Utile Engineering boosters from 300 m³/hr to 5,000 m³/hr, and size, install, commission, and service them. Filter by brand or flow on the left, or use the guide below.
Which gas booster do you need?
Start with the gas flow your equipment needs at full load, then the pressure you need to add. Figures are each model's maximum.

Secomak and Utile Engineering
Secomak
A British manufacturer that built the first gas booster with British Gas in 1966. Secomak boosters cover 300 to 2,000 m³/hr and up to 112 mbar on natural gas, town gas, and biogas, with single and three phase models. Packages add APS Inverter control, Duty Standby, acoustic enclosures, and a gas leak sensor.
Utile Engineering
A British maker of centrifugal gas boosters, blowers, and exhausters. Utile machines cover up to 5,000 m³/hr and up to 1,030 mbar, with multi-stage designs for higher pressures, and handle natural gas, biogas, landfill gas, and air. ATEX Zone 1 options are available.
Every booster is sized to your site. Tell us the gas, flow, and inlet and outlet pressures and our engineers will recommend a model.

What does a gas booster do?
It raises the pressure of the incoming gas supply so burners, boilers, CHP engines, ovens, and furnaces get the pressure they are designed for. Boosters are used where the mains supply pressure is too low or drops at peak demand.
How do I size a gas booster?
You need four figures: the gas type, the maximum gas flow in m³/hr, the inlet pressure available, and the outlet pressure your equipment needs. The booster must add the difference at the full flow, which you check against the model's performance curve. Our engineers can do this for you.
Which gas booster runs on single phase power?
The Secomak 576/1 Single Phase runs on 230 V single phase, up to 300 m³/hr and 30 mbar. All the other Secomak models and the Utile range are three phase.
Can gas boosters handle biogas?
Yes. Secomak boosters are built for natural gas, town gas, and biogas. Utile Engineering boosters handle natural gas, biogas, landfill gas, and air.
What is a Duty Standby gas booster?
Two boosters on one package. They swap duty automatically every seven days to even out wear, and if one is down for maintenance the other keeps the gas flowing. It suits sites where the gas supply is critical.
Who supplies and services gas boosters in Australia?
Hurll Nu-Way, based in Glen Waverley, Victoria, supplies, installs, commissions, and services Secomak and Utile Engineering gas boosters. Call 1300 556 380.
