Process Heating Burners
Burners and combustion systems for industrial process heat: furnaces, kilns, heat treatment, dryers, air heaters, tanks, and thermal fluid heaters. Hurll Nu-Way supplies Nu-Way, Lanemark, and Bentone burners from 15 kW to 18 MW on gas, LPG, biogas, oil, or dual fuel. Our engineers size the burner to your process, and our technicians commission and service it, so you get steady temperatures with less fuel.

Furnaces, kilns, and heat treatment
High temperature processes need a stable flame across a wide turndown. Nu-Way Multiplex burners run from low gas and air pressures, and the FMP packages the same burner with its own fan and valve train.
- Nu-Way Multiplex MP60 kW to 11.7 MW · up to 30:1 on gas
- Nu-Way FMPUp to 4,400 kW · gas, oil, dual fuel
- Bentone STG18 to 144 kW · small melting furnaces
Direct-fired air heating
Line and packaged burners that fire straight into the air stream for make-up air, dryers, curing ovens, and spray booths. Modulating control follows the airflow as it changes.
- Lanemark FDBUp to 1,400 kW · short rectangular flame
- Lanemark Midco HMA2AModular line burner · 30:1 turndown
- Nu-Way ES Energystream0.3 to 3.6 MW · larger to order
Ovens and dryers
Packaged gas burners that mount on the oven, dryer, or duct wall and heat the process air, with high turndown to hold temperature as the load changes.
- Lanemark FDCUp to 1,550 kW · high turndown
- Lanemark FDGAUp to 1,550 kW · gas and air modulation
- Bakery oven burnersBurners by oven type
Tanks and process liquids
Immersion tube burners fire through the tank wall into a small bore heat exchanger, heating wash, treatment, and food process liquids directly.
- Lanemark TX15 to 1,150 kW · 80%+ efficient
Thermal fluid heaters and incinerators
Large package burners with modulating control, O2 trim, and variable speed drives for high output process heat.
- Nu-Way PGN gas3.3 to 18 MW
- Nu-Way PDFL dual fuel3.3 to 18 MW · gas and oil
- Bentone BG300 to BG95056 to 3,200 kW · Low NOx versions
Cutting fuel use and emissions
Most savings come from matching the burner to the process. A burner with wide turndown can run at low fire through quieter parts of the cycle instead of switching on and off, which holds the temperature steadier and wastes less heat.
Modulating control that adjusts gas and air together keeps combustion efficient across the whole firing range. Low NOx versions are available on several ranges, and regular combustion tuning keeps the burner running as it was set up.
Tell us the process, the temperatures, the fuel, and the current burner, and our engineers will look at what a better matched burner would save.
Gas, LPG, oil, or dual fuel
Most process burners run on natural gas, with LPG and biogas versions available on many ranges. Oil and dual fuel burners suit sites without mains gas or that need a backup fuel. Nu-Way Multiplex and FMP burners can fire gas, oil, or both.
If a burner struggles on low supply pressure, a gas booster can lift the pressure to what the burner needs.

Shop burner sparesType B approval and AS/NZS 3814
In Australia, industrial gas-fired process equipment is classed as Type B gas appliances. Burner and gas train work needs to meet AS/NZS 3814 and be accepted under your state's Type B approval process. We supply burners and gas trains for Type B installations and work with your gas fitter and inspector.
Process heating FAQs
What burner do I need for a furnace or kiln?
It depends on the heat input, the temperature, and how much the firing rate changes. For many furnaces and kilns we recommend Nu-Way Multiplex burners, which give a stable flame over up to 30:1 turndown on gas, or the packaged Nu-Way FMP. Send us the process details and we will size it.
What is the difference between direct-fired and indirect-fired heating?
A direct-fired burner fires straight into the air or product being heated, which is very efficient. An indirect-fired burner heats a heat exchanger, so the combustion gases stay separate from the process. The right choice depends on the product and the process.
How do I cut the fuel use of an existing process burner?
Start with a service and combustion tune. If the burner is oversized, cycles on and off, or has limited turndown, a better matched modulating burner can cut fuel use. We can assess the current burner and recommend options.
Can you replace a burner on existing equipment?
Yes. Send us the equipment details and the current burner's data plate, and we will match a replacement burner and gas train to the heat input and fuel.
What fuels can process burners run on?
Natural gas, LPG, biogas, light oil, and heavier oils, depending on the range. Dual fuel burners can switch between gas and oil.
Do process burners need to meet a standard?
Yes. In Australia, industrial gas-fired equipment is Type B, so the burner and gas train must meet AS/NZS 3814 and be accepted under your state's Type B approval process.
Do you service process burners?
Yes. Our technicians commission, service, tune, and repair Nu-Way, Lanemark, and Bentone burners, and we stock common spare parts.
