Pneumatic Conveying Blowers
Pneumatic conveying moves powders, granules, and other dry materials through a pipeline on a stream of air. The blower is the heart of the system, so choosing the right one sets the energy use, reliability, and maintenance. Hurll Nu-Way supplies Robox lobe blowers for pressure and vacuum conveying, and overhauls and services them.
Blowers for conveying
We size the blower to the material, the conveying distance, and the rate.
Pressure conveying
Lobe blowers push material through the line, for longer distances and higher rates.

Vacuum conveying
The same blowers can pull material through the line, suiting multiple pick-up points.

Noise and pulsation
Pulsation dampeners and silencers protect pipework and cut blower noise.

Sizing a conveying blower
To size the blower we need the material, its bulk density, the conveying rate, the pipe length and layout, and whether it is pressure or vacuum. An undersized blower blocks lines; an oversized one wastes energy and can damage fragile material.
Send us the details and our engineers will recommend the blower and package.

Engineering packaging solutionsPneumatic conveying FAQs
What blower is used for pneumatic conveying?
Positive displacement lobe blowers are the most common, because they hold a steady flow as line pressure changes. The Robox range covers up to 1,000 mbar(g) and 10,500 m³/h.
Can the same blower do vacuum conveying?
Yes. Robox lobe blowers run on pressure or vacuum, down to 500 mbar(a).
What do you need to size a conveying blower?
The material, its bulk density, the conveying rate, the pipe length and layout, and whether the system is pressure or vacuum.
Can you overhaul our conveying blowers?
Yes. We overhaul blowers in our workshop or on site.
How do I reduce blower noise?
Acoustic enclosures, silencers, and pulsation dampeners reduce noise and protect the pipework.
